MUSIC CAMP 2011 - JULY 10-15 2011 Music Camp at Camp Lambec
We had a fantastic week at Camp Lambec for Music Camp - thanks campers and staff! This year our musical was "Into All the World." It's a mission theme and Pastor Karl selected scriptures and written Bible studies to coordinate with the messages of the songs. Kristen Woodard directed the band music and parts and the counselors organized favorite and new activities for the campers! Please continue to pray for this vital ministry, and mark your calendars for next year so that we can continue to honor and glorify God through our music at Lambec!

Music Ministry
The Ken Mawr Church Choir includes many dedicated members, college and high school students who help whenever schedules permit and various musicians who share their talents as much as possible. We all have one thing in common ~ the joy of sharing our faith through music.
Anthems are prepared for Sunday morning worship with attention to the scripture, sermon and season. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 p.m. following Crosspoint and during the summer months, prior to the worship services at 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 a.m.
Special music in 2010 included our wonderful friends, Bert and Bob Erikson on handbells. A small girl's ensemble, soloists, Olivia Barth, Tim Savatt, Jessica Bryan, Jeremy McDonald, Ashley Bryan, Katherine Kirk and Sarah Kirk have been genuinely appreciated. Instrumental accompaniments by Kathy Masciola and the young musicians she mentors is also a special part of the music ministry throughout the year. The powerpoints for worship are beautifully designed by Elaine Parnell. Jim Heckethorn, Elaine and Lori Ryan keep that part of worship ministry running smoothly. Thanks to you and any helpers we may have missed. Finally, young pianists shared their Christmas music during worship on December 26.
Music Camp at Camp Lambec continues to be a much-loved week of music-making and spiritual fellowship along the shores of Lake Erie during the second week of July. Ken Mawr Church supports this ministry extensively with finances and service. The 2010 Ken Mawr volunteers and campers listed below joined 150 other volunteers and campers for a great week:

The season of Advent and Christmas was exciting as our "Joy Has Dawned" choir presented sections from this musical throughout the season. The sermons and anthems combined to draw our focus to the joy of Christ's birth through message and music. Special thanks for all the singers for your extra time and work during Advent and Christmas. The choir caroled to Chartiers Manor and Willow Lane on December 22 and it was a blessing to share familiar carols with the residents.
As we look forward to a new year of serving Christ through music, we remember our dear choir member, Moose Krause, who went to be with the Lord in 2010. We are thankful for the opportunity to sing and serve and share through music. And we anticipate with joy the music that will help us to "Worship the Lord with gladness...." and "come before Him with joyful songs." (Pslam 100:2)
